Underhill Rehearsal Studios: 2, Blackheath Hill, Greenwich, London SE10.  A cellar rehearsal studio designed and built in 1971 by Will Palin, Les Copley & Lance Spencer with financial backing from Joe Copeland which opened in September 1971 and was the venue where David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars rehearsed The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars prior to the recording of THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS (1972) at Trident Studios.

Underwood, George: Childhood friend of Bowie's who played in early Bowie groups and eventually became a commercial artist. He was involved in the design of the album sleeves for HUNKY DORY (1971) and THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS (1972) albums/posters/flyers and graphics for The 1980 Floor Show. Underwood was responsible for Bowie's famous paralysed left pupil - which leaves him with different coloured eyes and pupil size - caused by a punch during a childhood fight over the same girl. George Underwood recorded under the name of Calvin James. His first single release on 15th April 1965 was entitled 'Some Things You Never Get Used To' / 'Remember' on the Columbia record label, catalogue number Columbia DB7516.
