"I Can't Explain" (Pete Townshend): Who song recorded by Bowie on his PIN-UPS (1973) tribute album to British Sixties groups.

"I Feel Free" (Bruce/Brown): Cream song covered by Bowie on the 1st UK Tour. A live version of this song from the Kingston Polytechnic concert on 6 May 1972 is included on RARESTONEBOWIE (1995). Bowie recorded a studio version for his BLACK TIE WHITE NOISE (1993) album which featured Mick Ronson on guitar.

Iggy Pop and the Stooges: American pre-punk group led by Iggy Pop and much admired by Bowie.

"I Got You Babe" (Sonny Bono): 1965 Sonny & Cher song sung by Bowie and Marianne Faithfull as their closing duet on The 1980 Floor Show.

"It Ain't Easy" (Ron Davies): Song on THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS (1972).

"Its a Game" (Bowie): Song recorded in the ALADDIN SANE (1973) studio sessions which reportedly was the genesis for the songs "Its No Game Part One" and "Its No Game Part Two" on Bowie's much later album - SCARY MONSTERS & SUPER CREEPS (1981).

"Its Gonna Rain Again" (Bowie): Song started but not finished at the Trident Studio sessions for THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS (1972).

"Its Hard to be a Saint in the City" (Bruce Springsteen): Song shortlisted for PIN-UPS (1973) and the planned Astronettes album but only eventually recorded by Bowie in 1975. See also "Growin Up."

"I Wish You Would" (Billy Arnold): Song recorded by Bowie on his PIN-UPS (1973) tribute album to British Sixties groups.
