Ziggy Stardust Decals - Front
These are decals (transferable skin tattoos) of the Ziggy Stardust characters as drawn by George Underwood. The decals were produced in November 1972 as a promotional item and given out with the Rainbow Theatre Concert programme in August 1972. The characters are of Ziggy Stardust, Weird (Trevor Bolder), Gilly (Mick Woodmansey), Lady Stardust and The Starman and were heavily used in promoting "Ziggy Stardust". At one stage Bowie planned to put out a sheet of Ziggy Stardust decals with "Aladdin Sane" (1973) but this never happened.
Ziggy Stardust Decals - Back
The backing sheet includes instructions on how to apply and remove the decals with cold cream and the words:
"The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars" is already being hailed as a classic on its celestial rise to the top. Included is the hit single "Starman."
More Ziggy Stardust Decals
Another set of decals of the main Ziggy Stardust characters containing three more images as drawn by George Underwood.
