"This is a book of extraordinary photographs. Ziggy Stardust blazed briefly but intensely, and I am delighted to see his life and times as a rock n' roll star immortalised in this beautiful limited edition." - David Bowie

Tidbits from "Moonage Daydream" book
Genesis Publications website reveals a few interesting tidbits from the 15,000 word text in the book written by David Bowie! Read-on:
"Writers like George Steiner had nailed the sexy term post-culture and it seemed a jolly good idea to join up the dots for rock. The main platform would be, other than shoes, 'we are the future, now' and the one way of celebrating that was to create it by the only means at our disposal. With, of course, a rock n' roll band." - David Bowie
"After rehearsing my songs in that funny little basement at Haddon Hall, I breathed in the excitement of knowing that we had a unit that would really start fires. The band rocked like no other at the time; the songs felt strong and effective.'" - David Bowie
"When the TV series Bewitched went into colour in the late 1960s, for some strange reason Samantha occasionally wore tiny tattoos on her face. I thought it looked really odd, but inspired. So I used a little anchor on my face myself for the 'John, I'm Only Dancing' Video." - Bowie
"The flash on the original Ziggy set was taken from the "High Voltage" sign that was stuck on any box containing dangerous amounts of electricity. I was not a little peeved when Kiss purloined it. Purloining, after all, was my job." - Bowie

Though all Genesis editions are lovingly produced to the very highest standards of design, printing and binding, Moonage Daydream is probably our most ambitious production ever. This large-format volume (page size 350mm x 250mm) is printed on fourteen different paper stocks, including clear acetate, trace leaves and a variety of coloured and textured papers. The main paper stock is matt art 200gsm. The 346 pages are printed in colour throughout and edged in silver.
Of the 2500 copies, copies numbered 251 to 2500 are quarter-bound in blue leather with one of Mick Rock's photographs of David printed and foil-blocked in gold and silver on the front and back boards (this binding is pictured above). The design on the cloth-covered Solander box is a faithful recreation of the fabric pattern David wore on the cover of the Ziggy Stardust LP. The lid also features a blue leather label with the title blocked in gold and silver. Copies numbered 1 to 250 are Deluxe copies bound in full blue leather, blocked in gold with Ziggy's lightning bolt, and housed in the Solander box. Each Deluxe copy is also supplied with a Deluxe print of an image not featured in the book. This print, which is also signed by Mick Rock, is only available with the Deluxe copies of Moonage Daydream.
"We know just how many of you have been waiting for this one. Now, 30 years (and a couple of weeks) after the original release of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust album, David tells the story of his alter ego Ziggy, with 659 photographs by Mick Rock, in probably our most lavish limited edition ever. Already acclaimed by The Washington Post as a 'masterpiece'. All copies are signed by David Bowie and Mick Rock. The first copies are expected from our fine bookbinders in July. As with all Genesis limited editions, we shall receive copies in batches from the binders, and all copies ordered will be despatched by secure delivery service as soon as we receive them. Please note that with the pent-up demand for this title, and owing to the hand-craftsmanship involved with each copy, we are unlikely to be able to supply all copies ordered before the end of July. Please be patient if there is a delay before receiving your copy, but note also that orders are on a pre-publication discount basis. You are strongly advised to order now in order to avoid missing out. The Deluxe copies (numbered 1 to 250) in particular are likely to sell out quickly. Full information at:"

Press acclaims Moonage Daydream Book
UK's Sunday Telegraph Magazine has published a four-page-spread preview (above) of the Moonage Daydream book and The Washington Post has given Moonage Daydream the very highest of praise.
Writer Richard Harrington writes as follows: "another limited edition masterpiece from England's Genesis Publications... draws from 6,000 images shot by Rock during Ziggy's 18-month reign on earth. It also features a 15,000-word text by Bowie, who's hardly ever gone on record -- certainly not at such length and with so much detail -- about Ziggy and the glam era."
As part of David Bowie's Ziggy 2002 project Genesis Publications are publishing the much anticipated autographed limited edition book by DAVID BOWIE and MICK ROCK. It will be the first fully authorised David Bowie/Mick Rock limited edition book ever produced and will be called Moonage Daydream - The Life and Times of Ziggy Stardust.
